Neighbors announces seven more returning cast for show’s revival

neighbors has announced that seven more cast members will return for the revival.

The Australian soap opera was saved by the free streaming service Amazon Freevee last November, months after Channel 5 pulled the plug, ending a 37-year run.

As the series prepares to begin filming this spring, more familiar characters flock to Ramsay Street, with Annie Jones (as Jane Harris), Rebekah Elmaloglou (as Terese Willis), Georgie Stone (as Mackenzie Hargreaves) and Tim Kano (as Leo Tanaka) reprising their roles as series regulars.

Guest returns include Ian Smith (as Harold Bishop), April Rose Pengilly (as Chloe Brennan) and Melissa Bell (as Lucy Robinson).

They will star alongside previously announced cast members from the revival, neighbors long-running stars Stefan Dennis, Alan Fletcher, Ryan Moloney and Jackie Woodburne.

neighbors apparently wrapped things up with a bow for the residents of Erinsborough, the fictional Melbourne suburb where the action takes place.

What was thought to be the last episode welcomed ex neighbors stars whose careers began on Ramsay Street, including Kylie Minogue, Margot Robbie and Guy Pearce.

As for Pearce’s character, Mike Young, it will be interesting to see how the show plays out around his happy ending with Jane, now that Jones is ready to return.

Meanwhile, Jodi Gordon has recently hinted that she will reprise her role as Elly Conway. The original ending saw Elly and Chloe reuniting.

“There are talks going on, I say that with a big smile on my face,” the star recently said, when asked about a possible comeback.

With Pengilly confirmed as a returning guest star, it seems highly possible that Gordon will return in some capacity as well.

neighbors returns in the second half of 2023 with new episodes streaming free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and the US. Network 10 will retain Australian premiere rights for the new series.
