Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon Shares Her Newborn Son’s Sweet Name

Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has shared the name of her newborn son.

The actress, who played Bethany Platt on the cobblestones between 2015 and 2020, revealed to OK! magazine that she and her partner Ryan Ledson have named their son Sonny Jude.

Explaining how the couple decided on the name, footballer Ryan said it began as a nickname to refer to the baby during Lucy’s pregnancy.

“As the weeks of pregnancy went by, we called him Sonny,” she said.

Lucy also revealed that Sonny wasn’t the only name the couple had considered, as the actress preferred some unusual options for the newborn.

“I kept adding names to a list, so we set it in the stone age, which is good because I’m usually indecisive. I liked a lot of names that Ryan didn’t. Some of them were a little off, like Fox.” . ,” she said.

However, Ryan hadn’t liked an unusual name because he was worried the boy would be teased at school. “When you’re from Liverpool, there was just no chance of him being bullied non-stop,” he added.

Lucy and Ryan announced Sonny’s birth earlier in the month, marking his arrival in an Instagram post.

Before their son was born, Lucy revealed that Ryan was convinced the baby would be a girl, and the couple even made a bet the night before the baby shower.

“Last night I said to Ryan, ‘I bet you £500 it’s going to be a boy.’ He hasn’t sent me the money yet!” she previously teased.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and airs on ITVX.
