Fifty Shades of Grey‘s Jamie Dornan will return for a second series of The Turist.
More than a year after the twisted drama series debuted on BBC One, the channel has confirmed more than The missing writers Harry and Jack Williams’ The Turistwith the show switching to Ireland from Australia.
The original season centered on a man from Northern Ireland who wakes up in Australia with total amnesia, leading to a game of cat and mouse with mysterious figures chasing him across Oz.
Easy and Poker face‘s Danielle Macdonald will also return as Elliot’s (Dornan) new friend, Helen, as they travel to Ireland to rediscover their family history.

Elliot hopes that researching his roots will jog his memory, but before long, he is forced to confront his demons and dangerous forces from his past.
“I’m incredibly excited to continue the story with The TuristDornan said. “Harry and Jack Williams are brilliant writers, and I can’t wait for audiences to see how well Ireland and her characters are used to keep them guessing as the story progresses…”
Macdonald added: “I’m so excited to team up with Jamie again and return for another wild adventure with an incredible cast and crew. Jack and Harry Williams are brilliant storytellers and it’s exciting to see what they come up with next.”
The BBC has confirmed that production will begin in Dublin on six new episodes of The Turist starting this April.

“The Turist It was unlike anything we had written before and we are extremely grateful for the incredible response to the first series,” the Williamses wrote.
“It’s been an exciting ride to get caught up in that world again with the wacky characters we love so much and see where we can take them next, while continuing to deliver tonally unique and off-beat drama.”
The Turist does not yet have a BBC release window. In the US, the series has been broadcast on hbo max.
