Victim spoilers follow.
Say it ain’t so! Victim Favorite Robyn Miller was written off the show in tonight’s (March 18) game-changing episode.
The devastating scenes mark the end of Amanda Henderson’s decade on the show.
If you want the details of what’s going on with Marty and David, you can read our update here, but for now, but Robyn’s own fate was sealed after last week’s cliffhanger.
The episode picked up where it left off and Charlie was shocked when Robyn was finally taken to the ED in critical condition.
As Max, Stevie and Dylan struggled to stabilize her in resuscitation, the severity of her injuries left her colleagues at a loss for what to do.
When she finally woke up, Robyn tried to make amends with Charlie after their earlier encounter, but he assured her that they were fine and that there would be plenty of time to talk later.
Sadly, this was not the case. After a long wait to take Robyn to the theater, holby townSacha Levy showed up and insisted that he could save her; a promise it soon became clear he could not keep.
During surgery, Sacha had trouble stopping bleeding, leaving the rest of the operating team on edge. For a moment, Robyn began to stabilize and it looked like she might be fine, but when she later deteriorated, Sacha was forced to accept that there was nothing she could do and she died on the table.
Charlie broke down when he saw Robyn’s body and broke down again when he found himself facing his heartbroken partner Paul and their daughter Charlotte.
Jacob, meanwhile, was forced to face the brunt of Robyn’s grieving colleagues, who reminded him that she wouldn’t have been in the car, at the time, if it hadn’t been for him.
Amanda finished filming with Victim last year. She has played the kind nurse Robyn since 2013 and is currently the longest-running female character on the show.
Robyn has been involved in a number of explosive storylines during her decade in the ED, from the dramatic birth of her daughter Charlotte, the death of her husband Glen, to her surrogacy story with Marty and Adi, and most recently, falling in love with her childhood friend Paul, with whom she was preparing to move in.
Victim spoilers – what happens next?
Unsurprisingly, the ED isn’t going to get over Robyn’s death quickly.
Next week’s episode picks up on the day of his funeral, which takes place offscreen, where tensions still rage between the team.
Jacob’s guilt over his behavior on the last day of Robyn’s life will be a particular focus, as he debates whether he should go to the ceremony.
Although Jacob initially plans to attend, he changes his mind when he overhears Paige hinting that Paul wouldn’t want him there.
After a heart-to-heart with Iain, Jacob finds a way to grieve for Robyn in private, before making a life-changing decision about his own future.
Also before next week, Dylan fights to bring an abuser to justice and could there be more to Faith’s dishonest patient than meets the eye? Check back here tomorrow (March 19) for a full spoiler rundown of next week’s episode.
Victim broadcast these scenes on Saturday March 18 on BBC One. The show is also broadcast on BBC iPlayer.
